boone carpet inn nc red::This place was horrible.
The lobby smelled musty should have gone with the first impression and left.
The room also smelled musty and damp; the carpet was torn in two places.
Nothing looked or felt quite clean in the room and there was mildew on a lot of the tiled area and in most of the grout.
They also advertised having a pool that would have been nice on a warm day in june, but they chose not to fill it this year.
Like most hotels they had an ironing board and iron in the room, but the iron leaked like a waterfall and never got hot.
The hair dryer is also unsafe because it no longer has that cover thing over the suction end that keeps hair from getting sucked in to the heating elements.
We did something that we have never done before when asked by arriving guests if we would recommend they stay there, we suggested that they look elsewhere.
We brought all of these comments and complaints to the attention of the staff when we checked out.
A person that i believe to be the manager or owner was in there with an employee when we came in to do so, but quietly excused herself.
The staff member listened politely and apologized but was clearly not empowered to do anything about it.
Just to be clear, the town and surrounding area are beautiful, but we will never stay at this hotel again and strongly recommend against anyone else staying there either.
